Information About the Snakes of North America - Boa Constrictor

Boa Constrictor

Boa Constrictors are not native to North America. They are from South America. They are members of the python family, and as the name indicates, constrictors that catch and suffocate prey by wrapping their bodies around the body of the prey and restricting breathing. I found this snake in a garage in Orlando Florida. Florida is home to many non-indigenous species of snake. The warm climate allows snakes to thrive in what is normally not their native range.
